..."I know YOU are, but what am I?" heh heh heh

...there is no way around it,I will forever be a product of being a teen of the '80's.
When I signed onto ETSY this morning and found that one of our items had been featured in a TREASURY titled "PEE-WEES-BIG-ADVENTURE", I just about fainted - what a double whammy!! Yes, it is wharped, & probably shows a major character flaw - but, I just. don't. care. - Pee Wee's Playhouse was a Saturday morning staple during our college years. It was the one (and only) thing that we would drag our sad-hungover butts out of bed at 8am for - NO EXCEPTIONS - CHAIRY! MISS YVONNE! COWBOY CURTIS! (calm down Shara ;) ).
You DO realize, this REALLY is not something I can even begin to help, I AM just a product of 'the times'. I turned a teenager in The EIGHTIES, and it was downhill from there. Jr High, High School, College - ALL The EIGHTIES. Turned legal to drink THREE TIMES in The EIGHTIES (New York kept raising the drinking age on me right after I would reach that age - 18, then 19, then 21!). First real job & Apt - The EIGHTIES.
... oh the memories...
Speaking of 'Good 'ole College Days' - it is Jack-O-Lantern time!! Does everyone have their pumpkins chosen? Sunday night we continued a time-honored tradition, started in the days of 'Alfred'...

PUMPKIN CARVING!!

Members of the 'original Crew' still attend, beverages are still consumed, seeds are still roasted (but we have graduated from the 'illegal' toaster-oven smuggled into the dorm room!), and old age now prohibits us from 'enjoyably' carving while sitting cross-legged on the floor - we have progressed to chairs at the dining table!

GET OUT THERE AND CHOOSE THOSE PUMPKINS! THE GOOD ONES ARE GOING QUICK!!

Oh how I loved PeeWee (still do, of course, even though he's a perve--or maybe because of that, he he). I have all of the characters and would love to have the actual Playhouse but they're hard to find in decent condition (and then they're sooooo expensive). I keep meaning to do a pumpkin and hopefully I'll get around to it before Halloween comes and goes!

I found the box set of Season 1 of Pee-Wee's playhouse at a thrift for something like $5 and I snapped it up like it was gold bullion! And now Maren loves it too, so my brainwashing campaign is totally working. :)

That is a hilarious treasury!

One more thing we have in common... I LOVE Peewee!!!!!! I have two of the original talking PeeWee dolls.

Did you see PeeWee on Regis this morning? I'd love to see him on Broadway.

*Cowboy Curtis - snort!*

Tee hee, I'm also a teen of the 80s and remember Pee Wee's Playhouse - didn't it start in 1989? My aging brain can't remember, arg!

I love PeeWee, remember the Big Shoe Dance that he would do. Oh I am dating myself. Thanks for stopping by I am glad that you like my reds. Anything shiny, especially red, suits me just fine. By the way, I love your bank. Good price.

My son played soccer on Saturday mornings, so being the good mom I was, I taped Pee Wee for him. He got a pair of GIANT underpants and could do that routine, spot on! I loved that show, it was fantastic, very creative and edgy. Any great shows for kids always have jokes for the parents and that show did for sure.
