...little voices inside my head

~during a recent stop at a thrift~OH! Aren't these !FUN! ?!
...What are you going to do with them?
They'd go perfect with the 'Twister' tablecloths on the Summer Porch...

...But they are just W-world cheapies - not good quality.
But, they are !FUN!, and at barely a quarter a piece, they will be perfect to take brownies to picnics, and not worry if I never see them again...
...BUT you've been doing so good 'purging', do you want to start cluttering up the cupboards again?
Exactly!, as long as I keep participating in the 'catch and release' program - it's all good. Besides I'm doing my 'tiny' bit to help in stimulating the economy...

...You DON'T 'NEED' them!
At $1.79 is it really a matter of 'NEED'?...
When I got them home and found that they are the perfect size to fit inside my cake plate cover, they immediately went into the dishwasher and were put to use!!

...just 'cuz!

“The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.”

- Bertrand Russell
In the course of my internet travels this morning I stumbled upon this one in ZEN HABITS.
I also found a couple of other interesting sentiments:
"kept because of some memory that I felt was a defining one at the time. "
"never looking back, or too far in front of me, the present is a gift, and I just want to be."

...Do you want to go to the seaside?

The gumdrop hearts are gone......and the Valentine's decorations have been put away.

Time to get moving on some of those 'Winter' projects (organizational, creative and otherwise)!!
~BUT~
There is always time for a quick stop by the thrift!!!

The 'stuff' was not plentiful, but it proved to be inspirational...
I scored a WONDERFUL 'how-to' book on soldering!! It must be a sign. Learning to SOLDER has been on my 'to-do' list for many years - all that seaglass that I have been gathering is just screaming to be made into jewelry, ornaments and the likes!! I think it may come to fruition soon!

I stumbled upon this tiny shell, delicately painted as a face, and I fell in love! Right now I'm craving anything seashore~sunshiny~beachy related... and how could you not love it? I was really impressed with how the artist put the cheek color on the backside of the shell so that it just faintly shows through...

My only other find of the day was this glass (Swanky Swig?). I'm not sure of it's correct title or maker, all I know is that it had to come home with me! Can you guess why??
In case you can't guess, I show you a couple of close-ups...

I'm not trying to say that everybody wants to go..." (THE KOOKS)

...and a Dash-o-Purple

In keeping with the 'supplementary color scheme' of our Dining Room (recall the orange-green-purple of Christmas), may I present, yet another, piece of Royal Haeger which is part of our V-day scheme of things! This is my first piece of Royal Haeger in the Amethyst Crackle Glaze - an Xmas present from DH this year!!

As for the 'incoming stuff' front...
With our temps peaking on Tuesday into the 40°s, I ventured to SIX thrifts!! OH, I am feeling Spring - though I KNOW this is all just a tease. The thrifts were looking rather sparse, but it was good to be on the hunt - and somehow I managed to uncover a few goodies...
A double-strand sweater clip (.86¢) and a Tracy Porter/SAKS plate that I'm hoping will do well in resale...

a 'VERA for Burlington' pillowcase in a !FUN! vibrant flower print. This really makes me smile! Then when I found a 'matching' turq/green glass bead necklace - I knew that, too, had to come home with me! Yes, I have an abundance of 'jewelry love', but just look at these luscious colors....

Don't they scream TROPICAL with their colors of: crystal clear waters and beach and sky and palm trees?!?!
Remember the red silicone heart shaped cupcake pan that I picked up a few weeks back? I had to give it a try with some Choc. chip muffins... just mouth size... devoured in no time!

...a dash-o-red

More Royal Haeger has entered my V-day scheme of things! (An Xmas present this year, and only my 2nd piece of 'Black Mistique Glaze'! Oh, I do so adore it!!)

...sunshine?!!

...nice to see life 'OUTSIDE' again!Last Sunday (2-1), our temperature actually exceeded 20°, but more importantly we had glimpses of the SUN!!! This photo was taken of the hill next to our house, after a l-o-n-g day of kids (BIG and small) at play...

I went to several thrifts this past week, and these two FUN! retro mugs were the only things I dragged home. They do make me smile, but alas, my mug shelf is full and these will be going to e-bay!

Anyone for a new meme?? This one has a new twist, and I thought I would give it a try! I was drooling over Leanne's latest pottery creations at PAINTER GIRLS' blog and decided to take part. I adore Leanne's work, and this sounded like Lot's-O-Fun!
The first 5 people that respond to this post will get something made by me, it will be my choice, but made especially for you. (I was thinking of changing this to a 'stuff/junk' package, but decided the 'hand-made' requirement might actually motivate me to learning that 'soldering' skill that I have been so scared of!!)
However...this offer does have some restrictions and limitations (the fine print!!):
-What I create will be just for you.
-I will make no guarantees that you will like it (but I hope you do !)
-You will receive this item before the end of the year (or sooner).
-You will have no idea of what the item is going to be or when you will receive it.
The catch is that you have to repost this "MEME" and put together something to be sent out as 5 surprises of your own.
These could be anything...a piece of art, a photo, a poem or haiku, a quote...whatever you like, let your imagination run wild.

Call me crazy, but I think this just may be the inspiration I need in this dark month of February!!

Hope you'll join me 8-), S-
