Friday morning was sunny, but brisk.
First stop, first purchase (.25¢). It was going to be a good day! (VERA 2010 #10)
Later stop, $1. (2010 #8). I already have an identical set, except they are souvenirs for 'NORTH BAY' instead of 'WESTPORT' - anybody else out there ever come across any other examples of these??
Just so that you don't think that I have COMPLETELY given up on buying anything else (though I have been trying to pull in the reigns tighter lately!), here are a 'few' of my other 'picks-of-the-week'...
First step ACCOMPLISHED... or so our bodies are telling us this morning!!
NEXT STEP:
For anyone that is sick of VERA, you may just want to quit reading this blog, because her presence isn't going away any time soon, and I won't apologize for it. When you find something/someone that inspires you ~ go with it!
As for the 'GOAT NODDER'... he looks older to me, but I really don't know. Mexican? Italian? Day of the Dead? Some kind of folklore? Cheap-o souvenir? He has stolen my heart, whatever his story!! If ANYBODY has any history/info I would love to know, so PLEASE - Spill the beans!!!! I will be forever greatful!

I could look at Vera designs all day! How lucky you are to keep finding these! I have found one scarf and one napkin(in poor shape but still mine). So don't stop with the Vera photos ever!!
I love it that you adore Vera. I never knew much about vera and I am not a scarf kind of gal, so I would never collect them. I do however, scour the bins looking for Vera for YOU! We all love different things. How boring would blogs be if we all collected the same thing. (Lovin' the flower frog...one of my new obsessions!)
That butterfly scarf is just gorgeous! I saw in BHG for May that they featured a little tiny tape measure and mirror that had a VERA print on them. They are available from some museum shop, let me know and I'll find the link for you if you want. They made me think of you when I saw them!
Hey, I'm new here. But yes, I have seen those sweater broaches before. My granny had at least one from some obscure little outport in my home province of Newfoundland. They are used to hold your button-less sweater in place in the front (very popular in the '60s).
And I love Mr Bobble-head Goat.
I covet thy butterfly Vera!
