...don't you just LOVE IT when...

Sunday morning we left the house at 5:15am for the days adventures... Spurr of the moment 'Roadtrip to my parents house"!
We planned our path to cross with The Avon Flea. I only get to this one once or twice a summer, so it was a HAPPY DAY - Especially when I spotted this, sitting right out in the open on a table...

For those of you who have followed my blog for a while, you know that I have been in search of a deck of Tarot Cards for a few years. ~I was almost to the breaking point of just buying a 'new' deck!~ THIS DECK is perfect - doesn't look to have ever been used, complete, dated 1961, and only 50¢ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There were LOTS of goodies to look at, wonder about and drool over. What came home with us other than the deck of cards was (were?)...
A turq/white Royal Haeger dish, an Ezra Brooks Liquer Decanter (Haeger?) and FOUR sweater clips. Oh, and a bag of golf tees for DH (not photo'd - imagine that.)
DON'T YOU JUST LOVE IT WHEN...
... You make a purchase, and the research ends up being almost as much fun as the purchase?!

The Sweater clip to the bottom of the photo has a pendant on it - round with a seed in it. I have seen these in different pieces of vintage jewelry before, and now that I owned one, I wanted to know what kind of seed it is... Here's what I found: MUSTARD SEED BUBBLE CHARM !
The EZRA BROOKS decanter that we were in hopes of having been done by HAEGER:
DH & I spent LOTS of time Sunday night looking for info about the decanters made by HAEGER - both on the computer and in our stack of Royal Haeger books ... not much to be found, BUT...
DON'T YOU JUST LOVE IT WHEN...
You find out that something you purchased just because 'it spoke to you' or 'you adored it' was actually by a designer that you admire?!

As we were scouring the Haeger books...

DH: (pointing to a photo) "Hey, this almost looks like that one you have on the porch table..."

Me: (looking closely) "It is!!"

***Remember this purchase from 9/08, which has been stored away in the attic, awaiting it's appearance on the 'Hawaiian Porch'?? Turns out he is a 1950's piece by Royal Haeger -HAWAIIAN STUD is actually NATURE BOY! ***

While at my parents, there was rhubarb to be had - which later resulted in THIS Raspberry-Rhubarb pie...

The journey home, HAD to include a stop by one of my favorite SEA GLASS beaches. Love 'new' fuel to keep me a practicing my soldering!!

GOOD TIMES.

My Great-Grandmother (the one that had the toasting glasses on the cakes...) always wore a Mustard Seed bubble - always. "Good luck", she said. I found one no long ago at a sale and was SO happy to have found it.

I'm your biggest fan, and I never knew you wanted Tarot Cards.....

Sounds like you had a fabulous day! Lucky YOU!

Great find of the tarot deck! I wonder what story it would tell...
