Okay all you Bloggy Show Gurus, here's a 'Dry-Run'... ready for critique ~ give it to me!

(excuse the boxes and mess in the background - not a whole lot of space for the mock-up, and housekeeping has been on hold lately!!)

Did everyone note the 'Seaglass From the FingerLakes' sign?!?  Isn't it AWESOME?!?!  Pulled in a favor / trade and my 'PR' girl (I love saying that - sorry R!!) custom designed & MADE it for me - (from an ivory sheet of paper)!! I'm in love, but it REALLY makes all of my other signs look PATHETIC!

Partner in Crime - 'L' - in this adventure is coming with her wreath creations tomorrow to finish filling up this display that will sit at one end of the table.

Isn't that how the old saying about 'Pink sky in Morning' goes??

 Well, it seems we have been having a LOT of BEAUTIFUL PINK SUNRISES lately... or so they appear on the surface!

 

I think that there should be a similar WARNING about blogs.
  Blogs created by people with LOTS of talent.

Blogs created by people who are terribly organized.

Blogs created by people with wonderful photography skills.

SHOULD NOT BE READ BY THE HIGHLY IMPRESSIONABLE!!

 

As an avid thrifter, I have been known to start 'picking-up' things at sales because 'they are The HOT ITEM' in blog land...

Recently I was approached, and asked to be a vendor in a SMALL, Local Fall handmade Farm Market....

and I agreed.

I am definitely dipping my toes into unknown territory...

The theme to my booth is Upcycling in the FingerLakes of NY.

VERY small show with low foot traffic - good for a newbie!!

(ie: won't need a LOT of product)

 

Hot-glue gun is clearing out some of the hoards of Shiny Brites as they are made into wreaths!

 

Trays of recently washed Sea Glass, waiting to be sorted and wire wrapped into pendants...

Hands are never still while road-trippin' or watching
TV, making PLARN Pumpkins (in a FUN new BLACK!!)

 is that I pass by this view from my Attic/Studio window...

I had NEVER held an ANNALEE doll in my hands before (or seen one in person), but while scrounging through a box of ornies at Rummage sale recently, I heard the lady next to me say to her Partner in crime "OH. MY. GOSH!  LOOK. AT. THIS. UGLY! SANTA!"  Just by the tone in her voice, I KNEW it had to be.  I turned my head SO FAST to get a glimpse of what she was referring, then held my breath that neither would take it.
  They didn't. 
 I grabbed it.
I checked the tags.
IT WAS!

...the WOG of it all.

Wednesday was a picture perfect day!

I ventured out on a solo roadtrip to meet up with some old friends for an evening of play at a place that I've heard about for Y.E.A.R.S.!!

 

In preparation for this evening, I had played around with seaglass and worked on my wire wrapping techniques to form each of us 'girls' (old ladies?- no, I'm sticking with Girls!!) a token pendant necklace for the evening..

 

This was a BIG evening after all!

My First Trip to POLLYWOGG HOLLER ECO-RESORT!!

~No, we didn't pay those OUTRAGEOUS $$ to spend the night, we just went for band & pizza & wine

~YES, I would Definitely recommend it!

~In case you were wondering, those pendants were supposed to be Pollywogs, or WOGS as we so affectionately referred to them!

 

Thursday morning was another beautiful day for a roadtrip back home,  enhanced by the chance encounter of a couple of 'early-weekend' garage sales!!

 A whole spool of cording for my future pendants ~ How did the garage sale Gods know that I had just used up the last of mine on the WOGS???

...and a little concrete FROG for our garden.  Is that the perfect ending

to a WOG trip, or what?!

Started off the new week of the 'New Year' with a Girl's Day-Trippin' adventure!   (Picked a local town/city that we had been wanting to explore more 'in-depth'... and did it!)

good sign.  First 'Angel Trumpet' blossomed in our garden on the eve of our journey...

R (my comrade in travel) is stamper / cardmaker extraordinaire!  I got lots of inspiration from her patient explanations of techniques as we visited every little boutique and shop that piqued our interest!

 After that FULL day of inspiration (and a bit of purging, as I did sell some clothing to a second hand shop!!) I was ready to hit the 'attic studio' for some creative work...

Craziness with 'real-world-work' sent

 me to my favorite beach for solace,

where I ended up scoring some

 beautiful specimens!!

 

Another day I joined my Parents who are camping in our part of the state, for a day of 'flea marketing'!  Dad had brought me an old metal spool (from his shop at home) filled with some copper wire - he thought I might be able to use it in my jewelry endeavors.  While saling I also found a vintage cast iron based 'solder clamp' which had been on my 'wishlist' for quite a while ($2).  The box of solder and the spool of Brass wire were also flea market finds that set me back a whopping $1.50!

It was a present from my Brother, (that my parents had delivered to me from him). He knew I was looking for one...(photo prop!!).   Now, it just makes me smile because EVERYTIME I look at it I have an 80's flashback, as this song goes through my head

Don't mean to brag, but this doesn't happen often ~

WE (as in 'UPSTATE NY') have been having B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. weather lately!!

 J & I decided it was FINALLY time to take my Christmas Gift (Sherlock) out on his Maiden Voyage - destination: a yet unopened State park on a neighboring FingerLake.  You see I didn't even know I wanted Sherlock until I opened this large present Christmas Morning to discover... a Metal Detector!!  Now, I have SOOO much to learn about him!!  Let's leave it to say, that all Sherlock helped me discover on our first date were 3 metal can pull-tabs and one rusted out can bottom...

~BUT~

My tote bag was NOT empty when we left the park... after a Picnic Snack in the sun, we packed up Sherlock and just did a little beach combing the way we know best B-)...   

Lovely lake stones washed smooth....

In additional to the usual search for seaglass, I was also searching out driftwood and flat stones for a couple of other 'projects' I had in mind...

ANCHORS AWAY!

STONES - eh - MUCH  better BEFORE I got my hands on them, oh well, I can always flip them over!

and then of course there is seaglass drying on my counter.  Came out this morning and the prism that sits on my windowsill was reflecting perfectly onto the white pieces.
